Welcome to our Year Review update!

Korporatio aims to create a new generation of cutting edge, truly global businesses, led by entrepreneurs who are citizens of the world. A new era in which everyone is empowered to incorporate, innovate and realise their dreams.

GENERAL

In the same way as last year, this December update will be a recap of everything that has happened during 2019. As usual, I wish to highlight the good, the bad and the ugly of what happened – and shed a bit of light in what will happen in 2020.

DEVELOPMENT IN 2019

You have read a lot about everything that has been achieved in 2019, but I believe that some results are worth to be highlighted here as well:

  • We launched the new version of the Dashboard with new tech architecture and design;
  • Implementation with Portis to allow no-blockchain users to use our product and with hardware wallets for the more tech-savvy users;
  • Development of an escrow system to enter new jurisdictions;
  • Development of cap-table, internal exchange, multiple directors model, automated accounting, individual shares certificate and uploads of documents to bring the technology closer to the needs of a traditional corporate governance experience;
  • Implementation of the gas station so users don’t need to have ETH in their wallet to use our system;
  • Development of a complete notification system to ensure directors, agents and shareholders are always up-to-date on what is happening in the company;
  • Integration with Self-key and upgrade of Blockpass integration.

There was much more that has been done. But this alone should show how much work has happened behind the curtains to bring the Smart Company experience to everybody, regardless of if one is familiar with blockchain or not. We aim to improve the system much more! So much actually, that it will be impossible for a non-blockchain user to even know whether or not they are using a blockchain product.

JURISDICTIONS IN 2019

Last year I finished this section mentioning we would start working on the second jurisdiction. At that point, our solution was available only in Seychelles.

The growth we have achieved on the jurisdictions side in one year has been absolutely incredible, we are currently available in:

  • Seychelles
  • Panama
  • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Wyoming (US)
  • Singapore

We have basically achieved 1 new jurisdiction per quarter, and this is simply amazing. As shared in our last month’s update, we do have one more jurisdiction under pilot, which will be the goal for Q1 2020. As this will offer one solution in the majority of the world, our focus for 2020 will be in user growth as we believe we have a good enough offer on the table.

MARKETING IN 2019

Last year we were presenting this section in a very simple way. We had just launched our LinkedIn and Twitter accounts as well as our newsletter. This year there is definitely much more to say!

The star in terms of growth has been our LinkedIn page, strong of gaining more than 1,200 followers. Twitter has been growing as well but unfortunately not at the same speed as LinkedIn. We have also made mistakes, to all the subscribers of our newsletter, we are sorry if we missed a few months, that is one of the areas we will have to work harder in 2020.

Preparing, Testing & Learning

2019 was supposed to be the year of testing strategies and we have done exactly that. We have been mentioned in more than 60 articles, people also wrote about us on multiple forums, and some have also added us to conversations on Twitter. Our PPC campaigns have reached a CTR that is quite insane for the industry, but it hasn’t been all rainbows and unicorns.

Banners campaigns has reached a conversion of 0%, meaning those are probably not the right channels for us. The offline conferences we have attended have generated very little in return, meaning that if the ticket was not free, we have generated a negative ROI from it. Our message and therefore value proposition is still not clear enough as many people are still asking us what do we do exactly.

We have spent 12 months in preparing, testing and learning. And in 2020, we are going to push. The majority of my time will be fully dedicated to make the Korporatio brand stronger and to improve our conversion rate even more. As this will be the new focus, I’m not sure how the monthly updates will look like, but I’m sure we will figure out something to keep the concept nice and smooth.

THE UGLY

As mentioned before, 2019 hasn’t just been rainbows and unicorns. It has been a year of incredible achievements but also full of stress and fails. I think the best way to summarize this is:
it has been a year of a startupper.

I would like to dedicate this final part to those of you out there that are considering starting a new venture in 2020. You will have to make a lot of decisions, some of them are easy, everybody will agree with you and they will trust you. In other cases, you may have a lot of people against you. It doesn’t matter if it is your company or not, it doesn’t matter if everyone is in the same office or not. Problems and issues will come.

Your biggest achievement will be the one you will receive when you will understand when to listen to yourself and when not. This also means you may need to make uncomfortable decisions such as letting go people. I’ve seen many startups fail simply because they wanted to keep swimming in their status quo. A friend this year told me I was making the same mistake. To me, it actually took a lot of internal thinking to understand it.

However, even if this is the ugly part, having a startup is probably one of the most exciting things you will ever experience in your life. At least for once, try it!

So to conclude, to all of you who have made 2019 an absolutely incredible year to Korporatio, thank you. You are helping this company to become a leader in the incorporation services industry. 2020 will certainly be a very challenging year as growth will be our #1 KPI, so stay tuned and I will see you at the end of January 🙂

Wishing you a happy and memorable New Year 2020!
